I like to think I am a bit more diplomatic now, but in my 20s when a job was just a job I used to just say it as it was.
If people were being ridiculous, I would say so but also explain why. I wasnt trying to be rude or clever but I think its important people know the customer isnt always right if they are wrong.
I was made a manager and also put in dealing with complaints so I must have been alright at it... or get me away from customers/deal with already unhappy customers - who knows?

So true! I remember writing to a repeat complainer that if they remained unhappy with our service, there were another 13 energy suppliers that they could switch to and I included a page listing all the companies and their contact details!MWT said:ACG said:If only you could say that in the real job eh!
Having worked for a couple of banks, the things people do and say... You just want to call them out for being completely ridiculous or unreasonable. But you also want to keep your job.The very few occasions upon which I was able to do exactly that are among some of my fondest memories of working in a customer facing environment

I haven't read the comments, but what it appears to them is that you're tempering with the documentation. How do they know you've not tempered with something else through other means?
They may also need to check the account numbers are actually valid and exist under that name, but they can't do that if they're omitted. Just because you have a bank statement with numbers on it, doesn't make the bank statement authentic. I can forge one now and put your name on it.Note:I'm FTB, not an expert, all my comments are from personal experience and not a professional advice.Mortgage debt start date = 25/10/2024 = 175k (5.44% interest rate, 20 year term)- Q4/2024 = 139.3k (5.19% interest rate)
