Octopus 'smart' electric meter with two kWh readings

Octopus recently had smart meters fitted, then partly commissioned. The gas meter works, they get readings from it, but the electric meter wouldn't commission, so we were told by the person who came to do it. I had the exact opposite of the OP when I switched from EDF to E.On Next. I was a Profile 2 (Economy 7) but erroneously only incrementing the Rate 1 register even though the ALCS was turning my storage heaters on and off. It took 9 days of phoning daily until I spoke to someone who understood and knew how to actually fix the issue.
