PAY-AS-YOU-GO SIM card?
PAY-AS-YOU-GO SIM card?
My wife has a "pay as you go" sim card with Tesco. She pays 10 pounds and makes calls and texts until the 10 pound has ran out, no time limit, no monthly payment. She s low user and costs her about £30 for the whole year .
I want the same for my mum as a back up phone. I see plenty of Pay as you go Sims but in total contradiction theyre all pay monthly??? Credit runs out each month.
Anyone know whether there is still such a thing as a "pay as you go" SIM card where you simply "pay as you go" with no monthly repayment or monthly expiry???

Tesco Mobile do still have a proper PAYG SIM/tariff, they just make it really hard to get hold of.*
You can order a free PAYG SIM online then you have to haggle with their CS to transfer this SIM to the PAYG Lite tariff from the "Rocket Pack" (!!!!!!) monthly bundle which is the default.
Lite tariff is 8/4/10p for calls/texts/MB.
Have heard that you can sometimes get a nice assistant at the Tesco Mobile In-Store cubbyhole who will actually help you with all this (or alternatively will simply try and flog you the latest iPhone 19 on a £200 quid/month contract...)
* whole chunks of their website dealing with PAYG Lite is full of non-functioning links but this bit works

RWG also do plain PAYG and I found it straightforward to get a few months back.
But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,Had the whole of their cash in his care.
