Just eat scam warning

Scam warning - drivers stealing food and money and just eat not entertaining any complaint about it. I ordered from just eat last night, the rude driver spent 17 minutes on the phone apparently trying to find my house but ignoring me every time I tried to give him directions. Eventually he gave up and said he couldn't find my house, so I said fine just cancel the order. He said he needed my order number to cancel it. I said I don't have it and he was insistent and pressurised me on the phone to give him it. So I ended up finding it and giving it so he could just cancel the order. When I realised the order still wasn't cancelled I contacted just eat. They said "The business you ordered from asked for a delivery code at drop-off and was provided with the correct code, verifying the delivery was successful. This means we won’t be able to process a refund."
When I explained all the above to just eat their response was "I’ve reviewed your case again to see if there’s anything I can do, and I’m not able to overturn our original decision because it’s in line with our policy." And each email after that was a template we understand you're not happy with the resolution we have offered (they offered no resolution) we apologise. Just template emails absolutely refusing to look into their fraudulent drivers. The whole thing is a joke will not be using just eat ever again and urge everyone else to avoid them, or atleast never give that code to the driver unless you have your food.

sounds bizarre but somehow inevitable - I never use such things anyway0

If you need to cancel or have a problem with an order you are meant to do it with customer service not via the driver. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.1 -
That sounds so frustrating! I’ve heard of similar issues from other delivery services, it’s shocking that Just Eat wouldn’t investigate further, especially with the code situation. I appreciate the heads up, I’ll be more careful next time handing out that code!1

just eat are a nightmare, I had so many problems with incomplete orders and wrong items, and having to be really persistent to get a refund, in the end I just stopped using them.1

Just Eat are a 3rd party. They do not cook the food or make up orders. Your issues are with the restaurant that makes the food & order.Debbie9009 said:just eat are a nightmare, I had so many problems with incomplete orders and wrong items, and having to be really persistent to get a refund, in the end I just stopped using them.
We have a sugar tax on sweet drinks to help prevent obesity, it really needs to be extended to drive through & delivery services. 😶🌫️Life in the slow lane1 -

It is against MSE rules.3 -
Just eat take the money and you have to go through them for refunds, as for the comment on taxing these services, I was ill and unable to get to the shops, why should I have to pay an extra tax just to make sure I can eat !! But thanks for your judgmentborn_again said:

The order number is a 9 digit number that says "order number" in the Order section.jl1111 said:The business you ordered from asked for a delivery code at drop-off and was provided with the correct code, verifying the delivery was successful. This means we won’t be able to process a refund.
Delivery Code is a 2 digit security number used to validate the food has been delivered to the right address
Sounds like you were asked for one but gave the other and the person was opportunistic to mark it as delivered else they wouldn't get paid.
Just Eat would fully agree with you, you should never give the security code unless you have your food just like you shouldn't give the security code on your bank account to a random person that calls you saying they are from your bank etc.jl1111 said:The whole thing is a joke will not be using just eat ever again and urge everyone else to avoid them, or atleast never give that code to the driver unless you have your food.
Just because it's delivered doesn't automatically mean it's fried food, there are a range of options available including fresh groceries. There are a range of reasons may choose delivery rather than collecting, dont really see why you think you should tax someone thats disabled or doesn't own a vehicle to have boxes of veggies delivered -v- not taxing someone using their car to drive to the chippy down then end of their road (but parking up and getting out to pick them up)born_again said:We have a sugar tax on sweet drinks to help prevent obesity, it really needs to be extended to drive through & delivery services. 😶🌫️0 -

Was a general comment.
You do actually pay extra for using JE anyway, as you pay a 50p transaction fee.
Yes you go through Just Eat for refunds, but it is not their fault that the retailer messes a order up.Life in the slow lane1
