Trying a different network on iPhone esim

I'm currently with BT using a physical SIM on my iPhone 13. Now for a couple of reasons I'm thinking of jumping ship. I've identified ID mobile having a suitable sim only plan that suits. I'd like to try out the network for testing the coverage in my locality before committing . I know ID use the Three network and have seen that Three offer a PAYG sim loaded with 10gb data for £10 with no automatic renewal.
Can I order this on an eSIM so I can carry on uninterrupted with BT for now on the physical SIM and simply switch to the eSIM as and when I want to test the coverage?
EDIT: for info I ordered an esim from Three and can confirm that both sims work at the same time. In fact the signal strength meter splits into two so you can see the different network strengths at the same time.
