They may not be "stringing you along". Following the vet's visit, they could be in a better position to know whether the horse will soon be better or they will have to get another horse or refund you. I presume you would wish to continue the lessons rather than a refund.
If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales

What is the riding school proposing to do ?
They keep stringing us along saying to wait for the next vet visit, this was 4 weeks ago
But it's not necessarily unreasonable for them to postpone some lessons - did the booking specify any commitment to supply x lessons within y weeks, for example, or was it just open-ended as a prepayment for x lessons?

No that is true, but at what point does it become silly, 3 months, 6?

There won't be a simple one-size-fits-all answer to that, so it'll depend on the circumstances, as they'd ultimately be assessed by an independent body such as a court - neither party can really set a deadline unilaterally but have you asked them what happens if the vet declares the horse unfit next time too?

With four horses out in the stable at the moment I know how tricky they can be.  Take an abscess in the hoof for example they can spring from nowhere and render the animal lame for weeks and that is just one example of what can go wrong.  (Plenty of videos online showing gruesome abscesses).  Can you drop in easily to see them, face to face is always better.

Do you still want to do the lessons, or have you changed your mind?
