Refunding riding lessons

I think I know the answer to this but wanted other opinions.
If you have paid money to an equestrian centre for riding lessons, and the horse you have to ride due to ill health is no longer available to ride, can they refuse to refund you even if their policy for cancellations says no refunds only credit?
It wont be possible to use the credit without an appropriate horse to ride so surely they can't keep the money?

I think that the devil will be in the detail, i.e. Ts & Cs, etc, but what is the trader's proposal to address the unavailability of that specific horse?0

Not clear to me, is it the horse that's ill or you?1

Won't an equestrian centre have alternative horses available, including with whatever the particular criteria were that made the specific horse suitable with your medical needs?0

So due to your weight you can only ride one specific horse, and that horse is no longer available due to being ill?
When you booked the riding lessons, did they ask you to specify your weight or meet you in person?
If they have weight limitations on horses, then it's up to the centre to make sure they have sufficient horses to ride if they allow you to make a booking. If they have no horses suitable for your weight range then they need to refund.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
