Gary Lineker BBC salary is x 8000 TV licences of £3.6 Billion collected fees + £2 B from outsourced programmes It is clearly stated that a tv licence is NOT required for any receiver if you are  ONLY LISTENING  to free to air broadcast signals. These are all sent 'en block' to your e.g tv,radio, set top box and are indistinguishable.

If you want to listen to TV broadcasts without a TV Licence, you need equipment specially configured to do that (say a set-top box linked directly to an amplifier with no TV screen involved).

What if you had a regular TV which you used but were blind so could only listen?
