When you switch provider and keep your number do you still have to get involved in getting the emei

The IMEI is the equipment identification of the mobile handset, nothing to do with your phone number. What you need to obtain from your network is your PAC (Port Authorisation Code), not difficult to do:

You would normally just need a PAC code to transfer your number. This could be tricky if you "cannot contact" id mobile?
If you still have a phone with their SIM in it, text the word PAC to 65075• The rich buy assets.
• The poor only have expenses.
• The middle class buy liabilities they think are assets.0 -
Will I need to contact my existing provider or will need provider cancel my existing contract?0

When you give your new provider your PAC code from ID, they will cancel the contract with ID once the transfer is completed.• The rich buy assets.

You need to contact ID mobile and get a PAC from them (as mentioned above). This is how you retain your number and cancel your contract. If you don't do this then it is very likely that they will continue to bill you for your existing agreement with them every month.Gobsh said:Will I need to contact my existing provider or will need provider cancel my existing contract?
You give this PAC to your new provider.
You already have a post going about not being able to login to your ID mobile account. You need to get that sorted asap.0 -
Gobsh said:Will I need to contact my existing provider or will need provider cancel my existing contract? When your number is ported from ID Mobile to Lebara by using the PAC, the service and contract with ID Mobile is terminated, so there's no further need to contact ID after obtaining your PAC from them (assuming no dispute of any charges owing). So if you are sent your PAC by the text message method I don't think you have to bother about logging in to your ID account any more.Evolution, not revolution0
