Just buy the phone you like / need
And go SIM only - no need to be tied into any contract at all
Lebara do a 25gb SIM for £10 / month, or 5G for a £5/ month. - But process will be v.similar for any SIM only deal
https://www.lebara.co.uk/en/home.html (price guide)
I've decided to go with the 25Gb for £10/month.
It mentions unlimited UK minutes and unlimited UK texts as well as 100 international minutes from the UK to over 50 countries.
It then says that 'Standard mobile calls and landline calls are included in your international minutes monthly allowance'
What does this mean? Doesn't that contradict the offer of unlimited UK minutes?
But it hasn't been a limitation as far as we have have found
My wife can easily do a 100 mins a day let alone a month , never noticed any limit or extra charges

I've ordered a new phone which I should get next week.
I've received my new SIM card from Lebara in the post and I've got the PAC number for the old phone.
Should I put the new SIM card in my new phone before or after contacting Lebara with the PAC number?
Procedure here to check if any

Not sure if it matters
I would put it in before, myself1 -
Wrap your phone in a condom and you'll have good protection.1

I've looked into this and I'm not sure if I'm doing the right thing.
I've attached screenshots of what has happened.
First this option came up:
I selected Import/export contacts and got the following:
First, I tried Import and but this message about vCard files came up after selecting the internal storage option (which was the only option):

I then selected the Export Contacts option and got this:
Can anyone advise me on what I should be doing?
I don't want to choose the wrong option and end up deleting all my contacts.

I think I've managed to export all my contacts.
These have now been saved as either Word or Excel documents on my laptop.
If there are contacts that don't transfer across to my new phone, would I need to use the exported data to manually enter those contacts onto my new phone?
Thanks0 -
Most of your Contacts should (?) already be stored online in your Google accountOn PC go to Google.co.uk (or maybe. .com ) - sign in to your Google account, click on the icon (circled in red in pic) , on pop up window go to ContactsI expect(hope) you will find all 576 contacts listed there, which means they are already backed up in the cloud, (which I think is pretty much the default behaviour on Android)
The new phone should pull the Contacts info down from there (if they are there)I don't think its so common now for contacts to be stored on SIM, but just wanted to warn against that small possibility1 -
Thanks
I've been deleting contacts and it now says there are 323 contacts on the Export Contacts option on my phone.
However, my Google account says there are 256 contacts.
The settings in the Contacts app on my phone say there are 255 Google contacts and 77 Outlook contacts.
I've gone to my Outlook account (which ends hotmail.com) and it says I have 223 contacts.
Am I looking in the wrong place for the 77 Outlook contacts?0 -
One of the documents I extracted is a Word document starting and finishing with BEGIN:VCARD and END:VCARD for each contact.
There are 77 of these so they must be the Outlook contacts.0 -
I collected my new phone today and I’ve tried to transfer everything from my old phone to the new one.
I’ve checked the Contacts app on both phones.
The old phone says I have 77 contacts. The new phone says I have 336 contacts.
Could this 336 be the 256 contacts that were in my Google account plus the 77 Outlook contacts (mentioned above, two messages up from this one) plus a few new contacts I’ve added in the last few days?
Thanks
