You have completely misread the post from @Spoonie_Turtle.I mentioned PIP in the initial phone call because, i can't remember now, it came up somehow, i think they were asking if i work and what benefits i'm on etc. The lady said "you can use our letter for them" but to be fair to her she's just saying it and wasn't the counsellor.
It also came up with the counsellor in the first therapy session but she didn't say anything on it.
Now that you bring it up, i'll ask her at the next session."Do not attribute to conspiracy what can adequately be explained by incompetence" - rogerblack3 -
There are clearly deep seated issues exposed for which PIP is just the backdrop. Your PIP journey... it is showing how you interact and relate to others... personality traits and behaviours that are very distinctive and predictable. In a sense these 48 pages have little to nothing to do with PIP... they're about your personality.. even the amended title of the thread is highly revealing.
what does this thread show about my personality and behaviour (it's a genuine question so i can understand how i'm perceived) as no one has said this before (i think).0 -
Can someone answer the ops question please .1

My concern is when you face therapy... engagement might be difficult... because I'm not sure you are someone with capacity to say to a therapist something like "I routinely ignore informed opinion if I don't like it"... or "I have recent history of questioning the integrity of healthcare professionals and tribunal panel doing disability assessment while they have clearly rejected much of what I claim to be true". Yet something like this offers real openings for MH specialists to engage you in meaningful terms and understand difficulties you may face... and how you might address them. I can for example imagine you would have social difficulties of significance as you claim (possibly greater than you claim as you may not even be aware...evidenced on the thread.. of how others perceive you and how they are reacting to you)... you've not detailed them well here like you've not really detailed any of the disablements well here ... in the claims themselves you may be doing better and that's possible.. but ironically you could be missing interpretation and understanding of some difficulties that do have merit in a PIP claim. Some people with MH problems are often very poor at appreciating how disabled they are and what risks they run with.
The thread has not really given you any advice of value (despite the outrageously good quality and proven accuracy of much of it that has ultimately seen a failed claim highlighted by the DWP as failing for the reasons you were warned about here) that you have worked with other than perhaps in getting you to engage MH professionals to assist you with the problems that arose in discussion in the last but one PIP assessment. This surely is the most lengthy PIP engagement advice seen on MSE (I don't recall anything like it but admit I haven't double checked as I might not live long enough to finish the process...lol) and that in itself should be telling you there are special features here. The special feature is basically that everyone else (DWP, assessors, possibly Shelter and pretty much everyone contributing here) is wrong and you are right (and your right changes at every turn.. it varies depending on what conditions seem to be in your mind as prominent or newly mentioned at the time... admittedly conditions do change, come and go, but you are now trying to get an element of PIP that IIRC not long ago you thought you would not qualify for as example..while confusion reigns as to what is the illness thrust behind disablement in various activities at least among several contributors here including me)... and since you believe you should be awarded PIP.... unshifted in that mindset... you may continue indefinitely to pursue that so far elusive award. The first claim began when advised by someone completely unqualified to advise such and likely with next to no experience of PIP... in a role notorious to this day for giving advice that is totally wrong, made up or bad.
If you are successful (particularly if so any time in coming months) there is concern the award may be very short (or even an unsatisfactory level one to you) and you'll be back to near square one.. but I also fear that this war for you may be having wider impacts... you're a family man... and I've seen myself the effects on my much smaller family unit of my own determination regarding getting benefits that I felt I was entitled to. Often partner and family support us in our endeavours... sometimes when they think it's not the right course... and sometimes at their expense. Do please evaluate what PIP really means to you and those close to you.... one day you might succeed in getting £74 ish a week... awarded for 2 years and reassessed in that second year.. at what cost. What transforms lives for better.... this is a line of advice I've had to take on board myself facing the threat of cancer last year... now knowing I have stage 4 rectal cancer and into treatments I was supremely well placed to deal with these thoughts and practical options... what money means has changed... what time means has changed.. what other people mean to me has changed (not necessarily in the way most might expect - I have for example now legally separated from my wife).. how I treat people has changed (I am much less tolerant of prejudice and ignorance and more aggressive and direct towards such people)... what I spend my time doing hasn't really changed and I love to help people... but in your case maybe you need to think about these big things.. time, effort, money, family, your real desires and future (and future health)..... it's entirely possible MH professionals will be covering some of these things although not necessarily so directly unless they sit heavily in the outcome focussed (as opposed to say evaluation and analytical) mindset as some may well.
