Booking.com flight refund

I booked a return flight VLC-KRK-VLC in April/May for next week, 16th September found out my outbound flight was cancelled, contacted booking.com, agent unable to find me another flight that day or previous day so offered me a full refund. My refund was for 96 euros, I paid 378 euros, only my outbound flight had been refunded. after 10/12 conversations with them over the las few weeks (being told the escalation team was looking at it) I was told today, not their problem and my inbound flight stays live. If i can not get there why would I want to come back. My contract was for a return flight which they have broken, Im noe 282 euros out of pocket through no fault of mine. haw can I get my money back.

You may not have a return booking as such but two singles, depending on which airline it is and how the booking was made?
  • Was booked through booking.com, they chose the airlines, Wizz air & Lufthansa on 2 separate PNR’s

....in which case cancellation of one flight has no impact on the other, and you have no right to a full refund, just the leg that was cancelled.

Regardless of the fact that you booked through an agent, the airline cancelling the outbound flight would technically have been obliged to rebook you onto another one, if you hadn't asked for a refund.

Edit: according to Skyscanner, there are seats available every day next week on direct VLC-KRK flights, all for double-digit prices?

‘They’ didn’t choose that - You selected that flight option/combination from the search results. You have two separate, single, tickets.

Unfortunately, what you are being told is correct. The cancellation of the WizzAir flight has no bearing on the inbound Lufthansa one.  Booking.com/G2T should have really explained that to you when you attempted to cancel and seek refund on the WizzAir sector.

I would start looking for another option to get out to your destination as the inbound flights with Lufthansa are available and the reservation remains live.
