Granted but it is possible to give an opposing view that doesn't include completely dismissing someone's personal experience/recommendation for no reason.

    I gave a reason...
  • I will have to check which ISP my MIL is with....
Is there anyone in the business who can advise whether her local shop is right in saying that dial up is being phased out - I personally think that it is a ruse to get her to sign up for £15 month broadband.

Just enter 'free dialup' into Google and cross that bridge if and when it ever happens.

Not to the best of my knowledge, I would think it will remain as some people cannot get or don't want BB.

Orange sent me a letter 3 months ago to tell me that they were stopping my dial up and moving me onto broadband........
Yesterday I got a letter telling me that due to 'service restrictions' they would carry on with my dial up.
Thing is I have Low User Rebate from BT so I dont want Broadband cos in the end I will end up paying loads more
Is your MIL on Orange ?????

Strange, they let me make two new Dialup accounts the other day.

And I still have Freeserve, Fsnet and other accounts with them.
