Hi , to one and all ,
Have been with Lloyds van insurance for 5 years never missed a payment or made a claim , just out of the blue , recieved a letter stating that the van insurance will stop on the 24/09 /24 , no explanation nothing , so called the ‘van team ‘ who sent the letter , nice guy put me on hold , came back with nobody know why here but call back tomorow !
2 days of calling back being on hold for ages 🙃 in the end apparently it comes down to 2 claims not on the van but our car one in 1922 for a cracked windscreen and one for a non fault claim when somebody banged into rhe side of same car -at the time told alls fine wont affect your no claims at all , but now after 2 years Lloyds think as far as i know it should have known about it and if they should have im sorry it was naive and innocent mistake on my part , sorry to go on but anyone have any ideas please at wits end .

I assume you mean 24-10-24
firstly yes both claims should have been declared
i imagine it was handled by an amc so they are correct saying it would not impact your no claims but your insurer does still need to be notified.
you can ask if they would charge you an additional premium
otherwise I would cancel before 24-10 to avoid them having cancelled the policy then take out a new policy with declaring all the correct details0 -
Lloyds Bank are a bank not an insurer. They have worked with a variety of third parties to sell insurance products branded to them by a third party. At present their Van product is a white label of Budget, an insurance broker.
"Single Customer View" is an ideal many insurers aspire to, if you move out of mass market consumer insurance and into "London Market" its next to impossible to trace risks as they come in as insurance, go out as outwards reinsurance and then back in as retro reintustance etc.
Ultimately you have to blindly follow the instructions of your renewal notice. You may have two policies with the same brand (which may be with different companies) and assuming telling them once about something means it applies to all products with that brand but that isn't how it works and hence why you are instructed to check the schedule and advise of any discrepancies.
You failed to tell Budget about the two claims despite them instructing you to advise if the schedule was inaccurate. It will be a painful lesson given that most insurers ask if you have EVER had insurance cancelled or voided.0
