Recommendations for a good health watch type monitor?

I've got one of these and I think it's fantastic value - although I have no interest in fitness tracking I think it does most of what one might want.

I only want it for notifications and telling the time! The battery lasts a week or more for me

I had a bad experience with a Samsung galaxy watch - it started sometimes rebooting itself when on charge. Annoying, but still usable. I sent it off for repair as still well within warranty and was told it was water damaged which is outside of warranty and not able to be repaired. The watch is supposedly water resistant to 50m and I had swam in a normal pool just once three months earlier, and it was working fine after that. When it was returned, it wouldn't charge or turn on at all. 

From googling I found both people being told it had been water damaged despite not using it for swimming at all, and others with the same rebooting issue who had it repaired with no problems.

I know plenty of people use them and swim in them regularly, I just wanted to share my experience as it left me frustrated! I use a Google pixel watch now, but for reminders/alerts above fitness tracking. (As you may guess from swimming just once, I'm not too into fitness.)

I've just bought the smart band 
Xiaomi Smart Band 8 Graphite Black, metallic midframe, fresh and fun watch faces, up to 16 days with typical mode, comprehensive health management (UK version+2 years warranty) : Amazon.co.uk

Which? gave it a best buy and I've no complaints after a couple of months use.

Recently I have stated buying some small items from Aliexpress and I have got 2 of these watches, works well for making and receiving calls as well, plenty of fitness apps and timers on it, takes heart, blood pressure as well., seven days or so delivery from China, Some of the stuff on Aliexpress is hit and miss and forget about one year guarantee, you probably only get 90 days, but I am more than happy with these 2 watches for a small cost.

Battery life is very good for moderate use, with at least seven days, just add your contacts to the app and it can sync them to the watch, so no fiddling around dialling on the small watch dial pad.

Loads of watch faces to download free on the phone app.

Garmin Forerunner 255 here, replaced by the 265 now but it's a solid watch and I like the software - no touch screen but not had an issue with buttons. It'll do running and cycling suggestions, tracks sleep and is good even with things like a weights workout, pairs with heart rate sensor plus all my bike stuff, good tracking of steps etc and doesn't seem to give false data like when you're driving. Simple to sync with an Android phone but I assume the iOS one is the same. Garmin Connect is amazing for what you get for free to load on the watch - things like running plans, stretching stuff like Yoga workouts etc

You can have different watch face styles, download/buy some or make your own too
