It's been reported for this (and many other hotels that cater for the masses) a few years back but couldn't find anything since 2019/
It can come in on handles and doors, pretty much anything that people touch. Including from the plane.

A friend takes bacterial wipes with her everywhere she stays and wipes down surfaces in the room on arrival. I thought this was overkill but the more I think about it seems an easy task and quick taking one thing out of the equasion.
Also just read about someone who wipes the plane tables and seat arms etc. Again makes sense.

Hand sanitiser before eating would be a good idea. Including if you have stuff delivered to a sun lounger.

I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

viral kindness .....kindness is contageous pass it on

The only normal people you know are the ones you don’t know very well

My mother takes a clear plastic sandwich bag with her to put the TV remote control in
I laughed when she first told me a few years back but nowadays...

In the long run this will lead to an increase in the numbers of strains of bacteria that are resistant to antibiotics. From a public health point of view doing this is disastrous.

Thorough hand-washing with soap and warm water is generally sufficient, so long as great care is taken not to touch anything possibly infected. Of course your own hygiene will not protect you if contaminated food is served...

We had a week away in mid-October at a 5* all-inclusive hotel in Greece. Most guests were from TUI.  At each of the two main restaurants, three specialty restaurants and each of the snack bars/food concessions, there were hand sanitizer stations at the entrances. I think my wife and I were the only ones to use them. Never saw anyone else think to clean their hands before entering and then touching buffet serving utensils etc.  Little wonder that germs spread and people pick up tummy bugs and sickness.   Shame this hand washing habit from covid has been forgotten.
