Wouldn't mobile app keyless door locks potentially not work at some future point anyway, thus not achieving 100% guarantee? They'll need power, which may fail, they'll need the phone, which may be lost. Wouldn't number pad locks work better? Think they are £30 to £40 each.

Keyless internal door locks sound to me like a solution seeking a problem.  What's wrong with conventional locks?  They don't have the potential, and real, problems outlined by Bigphil1474.

    Thanks mser's

Viewing Smart Locks options some which have 9v backup battery, I guess they could drain eventually.
    What are number pads please.
I have Care Alert for being locked in bathroom 3 days which is when I had to replace 3 internal+1external fd30 Locks.
Past day or two Bedroom door handle is keeping door closed, I've forced it again to regain access.
Maybe the question is, Is it Replacement Locks again or Replacement Internal Doors+Locks.
p.s. much vaunted home Emergency only covers External Locks and 2 websites for '24/7' joiner have failed to call back!

  • OP if you explain the reasons why you have these fancy (but seemingly unreliable) type of locks, perhaps people can suggest an alternative that might prove less problematic (if less snazzy).

    thanks

p.s. I've booked Tsker tomorrow afternoon, may help with Temp Fix and possible recommend if Locks+Doors are needed, I checked 2023 Bathroom door lock fail it was May last year when every lock was replaced soon afterwards.
Maybe it's Door Frames or Wood that's warping causing Knob to Jam.

    thanks appreciated

The Smart keyless ones in your thread title. Unquestionably more fancy than a standard "key" option, and also by the sound of it more likely to suffer problems. My suggestion is to explain why they are needed - as opposed to a straightforward "normal" sort of lock - and then people will be able to offer advice on a more reliable solution that will still meet your needs.

Cool Smart Locks remove physical handle and possibly the knob bit between door and frame.
Though No idea how they keep doors locked, nice addition to Smart Lights+Heating.

    thanks

Ok - so why do you need them - as approved to a standard handle and/or lock - on your doors specifically?  If you explain to us what the limitations you have are which make using a standard option difficult then someone might be able to assist with an alternative - more reliable - suggestion.  If it is just a “want” - ie because you think they look nice, then I suspect you may need to spend more money to get a more reliable option - and to avoid the risk of getting locked in to rooms again!

As before, if you explain your reasonings for needing these type of locks, people will be able to make far more helpful suggestions.
