Sigh.  I've been here for nearly 20 years trying to help people with property purchases and home renovations without even so much as mentioning my building company name.

I've fully explained how I think they could save themselves a bit of money and learn to market themselves on the value they bring and not be driven down on price to keep Checkatrade shareholders in profit.

I didn't even post the link in my first post.  That link is the only way I know how to get someone a free month.

I've removed the link, but I'm the one trying to be helpful.  I hope you feel like you've genuinely helped someone today.

It maybe old fashioned but I'm in an area where there are a lot of elderly who need work done for them and the leaflet drops are a way for many to find trades. Ditto advertising in local papers/free magazines etc. I've always kept them in a drawer if it's a trade I know I may need and passed them on to others who need jobs done.
Needs a name and idea of location - mobile number and a made up business title only means if there is a problem they may not answer and location rather than someone who's randomly travelling.
Word of mouth once started means a lot. Friends recommend, pass names at pubs and clubs - As do the ones that can't be bothered to turn up and don't let you know.
I'd never pick someone from a website like Checkatrade and Trustpilot is a waste of web space imo. Similar to the 'acreditation' you could buy for the job I used to be in.

I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

viral kindness .....kindness is contageous pass it on

The only normal people you know are the ones you don’t know very well
