Thinking about going pay as you go initially £80 for gutter cleaning and maybe pressure washing. They take between £5-18 per lead. Concerns- i have to give them my sort code and account number. Apparently you can set the limit down to £0 but I dunno if I'm gonna get robbed similar to virgin etc who seem to change their prices when it suits them etc. I don't like not being able to go into my bank and block direct debits

Do you know anyone locally using Checkatrade that you can talk to about this? Maybe someone who does things different to what you are proposing so there's no issues of poaching customers.
I quite agree it's a concern if you might be losing up to 25% of what you get paid for a job. I'd certainly want to know for certain in advance.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe and Old Style Money Saving boards. I wonder if it would be better to invest in your own website and google ads in your immediate area. The entrepreneurs circle is a really excellent resource for helping people market and grow their businesses. There's lots of good ideas for local businesses like yours. I've been a member for a long time and really value it.Everything I hear about checkatrade is that it's just a race to the bottom on price. I think the only ones making money are checkatrade!Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

I think the only ones making money are checkatrade! You can sign up for a free month and see how you get on.The challenge that most business owners have is moving from being the skilled do-er of a 'thing' to marketing and running a business that does the 'thing'.They're two totally different jobs but most of us don't have that marketing or 'running a business' training. I learn so much from other business owners because regardless of what their business does, we're all actually doing the same thing.I'm not selling it, by the way, I think it's a really cost effective way of accessing an awful lot of training and support.I have never paid Check a Trade and I never will. You have far more to offer people than just a price.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

There's always someone ready to complain.Last week I was working from EC head office where I got fed and watered all day by the butler and received one-to-one advice as part of my membership. I'll be going back next month. This year I've been to maybe nine in person events, three full day ones including an amazing full day on how to start implementing AI in your business which alone was worth the full year's membership to me in the increase in productivity. The vault is an absolute goldmine of training videos.I've been a member on, then off, then on again for 10 years and I know Nigel and the team, some of them really quite well. Those reviews aren't reflective of their modus operandi. They are incredibly helpful people.
Everyone has the opportunity to cancel before the next month's payment goes out. There is a cancel button on the website. You do occasionally see someone kicking off on the facebook group that they can't find it and then someone links to it. If you do cancel by phone then people wouldn't be doing their job properly if they didn't try to retain the business, but there's no bullying tactics.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

It's always people who don't read what they're signing up for that kick off. Free trials with a recurring free are not a new concept.1
