Thanks for the add to your forum. BT have put our landline onto Digital Voice and it has been an absolute nightmare 3 weeks. It has cut off our much needed landline, home security cameras and just about everything wifi in our house. We have struggled but manged to get some back on. Two things are still having problems the Truecaller system and most importantly our Blink home cameras. Truecaller company say they are not compatible with digital voice even though the internet says it is. Does anybody please know of any home security system compatible with Digital Voice as due to neighbour issues we need cameras back immediately.

Migrating you voice service to DV doesn't (shouldn't) affect the underlying broadband service. Is you broadband working? ie can you browser the internet, get email, watch YouTube? What is the problem with the Camera's?2

How are the cameras connected?
They would normally connect to the router and not have anything to do with the voice system at all.
Some older camera have issues with the latest WiFi security standards so you may have to select another protocol in the router settings.
If you say there are issues with "everything WiFi" that suggests either a router issue, insufficient coverage or you have not entered the new WiFi credentials correctly in your devices.2 -
Thank you for your replies. It has taken us a lot of work and messing around, but we can connect most things now to this new router. Amazon have offered to refund the cameras now, so I presume the Blink cameras are not compatible. This is going to pose a lot of problems for people as BT is pushing everyone with landline to DV. All the copper lines will be taken over with digital over the next couple of years. I only phoned up to renew my usual broadband & phone package and did not understand, nor had heard of Digital Voice. I totally got confused and by the following day they said it was too late to cancel. I have serious medical issues and have been without the landline for 2 weeks.0

When we went Digital, our TruaCall device wasn’t working. Contacted support and they guided me through an update (required two 60 minute connections) and it now works fine again.1

The cameras have nothing to do with the voice system, that is a separate issue we think. It seems the router will not allow our cameras to accept the wifi connection. The camera connection is plugged into a main socket and then wifi to our mobile phones. Looks like we will have to re-think our CCTV/camera ideas fast, as have a neighbour who keeps damaging our cars.0

Struggling to see why WiFi devices are failing to work. What I always do when changing a router is to make the SSID and password the same as the old router. Generally everything the just connects as normal2

ok, so it sounds as if the issue is migrating to a new router and is not really a DV issue. The new routers have the 2.4GHz and 5GHz WiFi bands merged ands some older devices struggle with that. Incidentally, the easiest way to add the new router router is to change the network name and password to match the old router, rather than change all the devices that need to connect.

I've personally being using Voip since 2001 and FTTP at home with Voip (digital voice is just the BT brand name for Voip) since 2016. I too have blink cameras and they connect to the router fine. Unfortunately I'm not with BT so can't help with their router, but it does sound like a router configuration problem - if blink cameras couldn't connect there would be people posting all over the internet to say they have problems but I can't even find one. Amazon will be offering to refund you as they consider you a good customer and as they can't really help with your router/connection they are doing the next best thing.
I hope the BT chap fixes it for you, maybe they just need to replace the router?
You shouldn't need to split the broadband into two seperate wifi names - my parents also have blink cameras and are with TalkTalk FTTP. They use an amazon Eero router with a combined 2.4ghz & 5ghz SSID without problems.1 -
Have you kept the same name for the wifi and same wifi password on the new router? Then have you made sure that both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz networks are enabled?
If so, then they should connect.
Digital voice for the blink cameras is a red herring, its the router wifi configuration that you need to focus on.3
