We did it last year - this year there is an earnings limit unless you are rural. Be warned it closes as soon as the money is used up so don't delay applying if you think you are eligible.0 -

OP, have you looked at the NHS Fleet scheme? I can't see any mention of it in previous posts, but I get access to it as a council worker, so would be surprised if an NHS employee doesn't. It's generally loads cheaper than private fleet deals and no deposit required. Unfortunately it doesn't work for me as I use my car for work, but it can be great for some.1

I might get ribbed for this but... there are some cracking deals on Nissan Leafs. If you charge from home and don't do more than 150 miles at a time it could be worth a look as they are super cheap. I had 1st gen 30 KW leaf and the build quality and reliability was superb so I would imagine the newer model would be eve better. Top spec 62 KW (over 250 mile range) models at 3 years old for around 12K. Get it erivced at Nissan and you get manufacture warranty and RAC cover.2

Thanks again folks. Wouldn't rib anyone about the Leaf but i actually think the Corsa is slightly cheaper and i think? more available. My wife isn't bothered what she drives.
Did look at Salary Sacrifice and for 8k miles at 2 years don't think it stacks up for us. It's all singing and dancing for regarding all maintenance, insurance etc for approx £15,980. The lease with maintenanace over 3 years (we only want 2 but for like for like) would be £9597.
For a 2 year deal at 8k miles i think we'd just take our chances0 -

We have run both our last cars into the ground. My Octavia is 11 yo now and the wife's Hyundai I10 died this week and the last few years garage bills have been tasty and probably influencing my decision. On average i would say we've been fairly unlucky. Hindsight and all that. I'm fully aware depending on the nature of the problems leasing could incur some of these costs too.
Regarding NHS- she is in a trust in Scotland and spoke to a colleague who told her that offers there weren't great but i'll get het to make a call or 2 anyway. She's also Blue Light Card so we'll look at that too.
The 2 year lease deals i'm looking at will either cost £6674 or £6818 depending on size of initial deposit. I'll probably just pay the mimimum deposit and take the hit of £144 and risk avoiding GAP insurance.

Googled SpeakEV and firs thread that came up was 'Corsa e -what's the catch??'
I suppose what it boils down to is we're hedging against depreciation. As i said earlier even if we're slightly out of pocket then so be it and mark it down as the cost of a trial run into the world of leasing and EV. We also keep savings handy for emergency funds . That's just us. Folk will disagree
So long as you can charge at home, you will be quids in with a EV.Life in the slow lane1 -
Thanks again for all your input guys! Spent enough time on it the last few days so just went for it.
Corsa Ultimate 50kWh. 2 years 8k miles. 24 X £271
Just chancing it without maintenance package because of short lease and lowish mileage.
Need to deal with chargers/charging now, insurance etc. Never ending isn't it!!1 -
