LG TV, Not fit for purpose.

Thanks Okell - No, that was in a conversation with my own TV repair man, but he has been in touch recently to see how I am doing, so I will get in contact him and ask him to verify that in writing for me.
Someone else suggested getting in touch with my CC company too, so I will give that a try anyway - if I can get through to them!
I will do as you suggest and see if others have different ideas before I dive in on anything,so important to get this right now, but, you have been a massive help and I am very grateful.0 -

If you can't get through to them on the phone look on their website for their official complaint procedure. Not sure if you've purchased another TV, might be worth looking at Richer Sounds as I believe they offer a good warranty, John Lewis are another cited as offering a good warranty on TVs but their service isn't as good as it once was and (only really worth noting if you buy an expensive TV) when they do refund under consumer rights they seem to apply a calculation based on everything lasting 6 years.
Okell has touched on LG possibly misleading you by stating you had to have a repair in Nov 2023 but there is a bit of gap between Dec when you were informed they couldn't find fault and Aug 2024 when it stopped working again, I assume the TV was working after Dec so presumably either they were correct that they couldn't find a fault or did find a fault and fixed it but messed up the information given, either way going down the road of misleading actions is a complicated one, certainly one you aren't going to be able to discuss with LG customer service but instead would likely have to write to their head office and see if anyone replies who understands the complicated issue of misleading actions.
Personally I'd hope for a decent amount back from the CC company and if you face any resistance or need assistance please do post back, we are aways happy to help
PS don't forget to claim any costs in having the TV inspected back from the CC company as well.In the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces1
