Can I claim for Flight Compensation

Just seeking a possible answer to this one as its not quite straight forward.
Is flight compensation for just one flight OR for the whole journey ?
The reason I as is that my wife and I were booked on a flight from Boston USA to Manchester UK via London Heathrow.
The flight from Boston - London was delayed by +2 hours and BA in their wisdom cancelled our connection flight to Manchester but re-routed us via Belfast
We were due to arrive on the connecting ( original) flight by 10am but after the delays and re-reouting we didn't actually get to Manchester until 1530 one 5 and a half hours later.
Am I able to claim ? or is it just the first flight which was under 3 hours late ?

Assuming your transatlantic leg was with BA, on the same ticket reference as the domestic one, then your eligibility to compensation will depend on the root cause of the latter's cancellation of the domestic leg, but if it wasn't due to extraordinary circumstances beyond the airline's control then you'd be able to claim, with the value based on the entire end-to-end journey.1

Many thanks. The delay was due to the Aircon on the plane not working properly and something to do with the engines not being able to be turned off... from what I remember. I'll try make a claim and see how it goes. Any recommendations for which companies would facilitate this or do I go direct ?0
