Are you divorcing?
To force a house sale you can start financial remedy proceedings. It's not a quick process but once it's over it will be finality in terms of dividing the finances. Bear in mind it's not just the house to consider, but bank accounts and savings and pensions no matter whose name it's in.
For a long marriage, which yours is, starting point is 50/50 split of all assets. That can vary depending on things like needs of the minor kids (idk how old the college kid is), age, income, earning capacity etc.
If you start proceedings you can always bring them to an end via a consent order i.e. you don't need to go to final hearing (and the court would prefer you didn't!).
First stop is mediation. If that fails and you've exhausted all non court routes, then go to the family courts
