Returning faulty trainers to Amazon after 30 days - breaching Consumer Rights Act!

I bought some trainers in July from Amazon and they've fallen apart already due to manufacturing faults. I've contacted Amazon re return/refund and they say that because they're more than 30 days old, I can't return them. They’ve sent me to Adidas to make a claim but Adidas have sent me back to Amazon. I believe that if something goes wrong within 6 months, Amazon should offer a repair, replacement or refund under the Consumer Rights Act.
I raised a dispute with my credit card company and they credited the charge to my statement whilst they "investigated". I then got a nasty email from Amazon saying I’m still liable for the charge and should provide alternative credit card details so they can take payment. Subsequently, my credit card company closed my dispute and reversed the statement credit because I didn’t provide the right info.
I don't want to go down the credit card company dispute line as Amazon will just send me another unpleasant email - and I don't want them to suspend my Amazon/audible accounts.
Has anyone had any success persuading Amazon to comply with the Consumer Rights Act and accept returns outside of the 30 day period? If so, how and how did you contact them and avoid hitting a brick wall like I have? I've tried to search for a complaints department but can't find contact details.

Is this a Amazon purchase or a Marketplace one?

If they have already raised a chargeback, then there is no 2nd option. That boat has now sailed as you only get one chance.Life in the slow lane0 -
Have Addidss confirmed that the trainers are faulty due to manufacturing faults?
Were the trainers sold by Amazon or only fulfilled by Amazon?Or were they sold on the marketplace?0 -
Adidas haven't confirmed the manufacturing fault but a shoe repairer has. I have photo clearly showing the stitching missing the tongue!
They were despatched from and sold by Amazon0 -
Hello OP
Have a try emailing:
managingdirector@amazon.co.uk
If you contacted Adidas by email//messenger/etc then include a screenshot of them sending you back to Amazon which might help you get a resolve out of Amazon. In the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces0
