I had a new DPF fitted by Landrover last year at 15k miles. Vehicle is 2020 discovery sport. 1 year and 7k miles on and DPF failed again and needs replacement. Dealer adamant the replacement DPF fitted last year is defect. And have fought the case however Landrover won’t pay. Advice please

If you paid the dealer then your contract is with them. Having acknowledged the filter was defective they need to refund you. If and how they get reimbursed from LandRover is their problem to sort out.pajp said:I had a new DPF fitted by Landrover last year at 15k miles. I see, so your current dealer is saying the filter Land Rover fitted was faulty. Get the dealer to put that in writing and go back to Land Rover (as the seller of the defective filter) and ask for a replacement or a partial refund.pajp said:Aylesbury_Duck said:

If it's you that's fought the case already, then you need to up the ante and consider small claims court action.0 -
They have as have I and been refused. Been going on for 4+ weeks.0

7k miles a year is very low for a modern diesel and is almost certainly contributing to this problem3

Did the work and part not have a warranty?pajp said:I had a new DPF fitted by Landrover last year at 15k miles. Apparently not.0

The dealer is very aware of my mileage and have categorically said it is nothing I do it’s a default manufacturing part0

Was the initial replacement done free of charge under warranty?0
-
Yes it was replaced free of charge. The issue is that the replacement part has a manufacturing defect0
