Shed gone wrong

Hello everyone so I'm in a bit of a pickle
I purchased a shed online and got someone to put it together
I agreed £250 to build the shed
Upon completion I noticed that a few things were not right
1. They didn't put the shed together properly, lots of parts are not aligned and there are gaps in where i can see the sky - basically they didnt know what they were doing.
2. The quality of the shed itself is very bad - rough edges so i could get a splinter if I touch door sides, patchy colours of wood, huge gap in one panel of the shed, apex not correct etc
The guy who did the shed has left he said he can't rebuild it now so i only gave £100 as they wouldn't leave unless i paid something
I've asked few handyman if they can fix and nobody wants to do it - they said i need to get same person back to fix it
Combined with quality of the shed - I've emailed company to complain waiting for reply
What can I do now?

First of all I think you need to ascertain whether the poor build quality was entirely the fault of the workman or if perhaps there was no way to put it together well because of the poor quality of the shed in the first place?1
-
And what solution do you actually want? Presumably you don't want somebody to have another at putting together the shed if there's something fundamentally wrong with it.0

How much was the shed OP, can you post a link to the shed you purchased please?
In the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces0 -
As others have said, if the shed was of the poor quality you describe, maybe it wasn't possible to put it together properly. I've mentioned in another topic about the very poor quality shed my neighbour bought. They had to add extra bracing to try to keep it square. They also had to put extra supports under the roof when they were covering it with roofing felt.

What can you do now? That depends on what outcome you want? I don't think the retailer is going to be interested in accepting a returned built shed, and it sounds like you've concluded business with the builder.
Rough edges and patchy colours may just be in line with expectations for a cheap shed - how big is it and how much did you pay? Expecting planed and sanded timber on a bargain-basement shed is unrealistic, but if it was supposed to be planed and sanded and isn't, that's a different matter.
This sort of problem comes up a lot, so for the benefit of anyone considering any job like this, or indeed many jobs around the home or car, pay someone to supply and fit/build. It removes most of the ambiguity around who's responsible when problems occur.

Thanks everyone - shed was £400 8x6ft came with 25 yr anti-rot guarantee - If the shed was bad quality I would have thought the person putting it together would have at least highlighted this to me prior (i.e when pieces were collected) or during putting it together. They never mentioned anything so i thought all was fine.0

Perhaps the person assembling the shed was too polite to say it was of low quality and the end result was as they expected (even if it disappointed you).
Is it possible that the other handyman also think that the shed is build as well as it can be?
Unfortunately, based on the price paid, the shed that you've ended up with sounds about par for the course.
I bought an 8 x 6 pressure treated shiplap shed with pent roof around ten years ago.
I wanted reasonable quality, good value and low cost (MSE mindset), even a decade ago, cost was significantly more than £400.
Did you view the shed at a retailer before purchase?
This would have given an indication of how your finished shed should look.
Does yours appear significantly worse than those in store?1 -
Unfortunately did not view the shed in person - only saw online photos I guess I never thought there would be any issues with a few pieces of wood! There are also very few sheds on display at the large diy/garden stores - I did try and check my local areas before buying, most are only available to view online. Another lesson learnt for next time0

Another factor that significantly impacts how a shed goes together is the ground it's put on. Did you lay a concrete base?1
