I had an interesting email this week about an ISA transfer that happened in August. I assume I’m not the only one?
The tone seems a little strange, it seems they are prioritising tattling over solving the issue.

Hi [someone],
We’re reaching out today with an update on your cash ISA transfer to Trading 212.
We have been made aware of an administrative error at Trading 212 which resulted in the deletion of your transfer forms which cannot be recovered.
This error was the sole responsibility of Trading 212 as the transfer request was processed successfully by Chip with all necessary forms provided.
We are now in the process of resending your form to Trading 212 so that the transfer can be completed.
For further information or updates on the status of your transfer, please contact Trading 212.
All the best,
Chip ISA transfer team

When you say "an ISA transfer that happened in August", do you mean one was initiated in August but hasn't yet completed, or that one was completed in August? In other words, is there actually an issue to solve?0

This information should have come from Trading 212 so they're the ones who come out looking bad in this situation, rather than Chip and I think it's fair enough for Chip to highlight that this wasn't their fault.2 -
The money was in the account a day or so after submitting my transfer and had been earning interest with Trading 212 ever since.
To me, it looks like Trading 2123 has picked up on a paperwork issue (they appeared to have deleted a document based on Chip’s email) sometime after and asked Chip to resend their paperwork.
Little odd, ISA administrators don’t send emails about their day-to-day interactions and paperwork they do with HMRC etc. So why in this case?

I got the same email and my transfer Chip to T212 completed weeks ago.
only thing I can see that might be related going on. In the T212 app my transfer balance from Chip is in yellow on the allowance bar saying reserved with a message sayingReserved represents value from your ISA transfer, allocated to your current tax-year allowance.
The funds are deposited and available for use. We're just confirming if the transfer should apply to your current year's allowance. In the meantime, we assume it does to protect you from oversubscribing.
You don't need to do anything. We will notify you as soon as your ISA allowance is fully confirmed.

Just putting in my opinion here - I'm not getting any sort of tone from the email either. They are just stating a list of facts.
