Smart Parking (St Catherines Retail Park) Bannatynes Perth Scotland

I recently received a named PCN from Smart Parking after visiting Bannatynes in Perth. I forgot to enter my reg details within the club if you are going to be longer than 3hrs. I forgot to do this and stayed a bit over the 3 hrs. They have sent it with a picture of front and back of car including the driver.
It is the usual details of £100, with a reduction to £60 if paid within 14 days.
I tried calling Bannatynes but they do not own the land and advised to either appeal or ignore. I would be grateful for any up to date advice on how to proceed with this.

The specific advice for vehicle keepers living in Scotland given in the sticky Announcement for NEWBIES that asks everyone to read it first is, always complain to the landowner and your MSP without revealing the driver's identity, but otherwise ignore.
Note that this advice will change, probably next year, when the new Scottish motoring bill is introduced. You can thank your former dear leader for this change that means someone who is not in the vehicle at the time of an alleged parking event can be held liable for a parking charge on private land.
Despite banging on about wanting independence, she decided it was a good idea to import this law that we have suffered from south of the border since 2012.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister.
