Give debt collectors new address?

Oh no! I was really hoping they would just go awayGrizebeck said:I suspect we will see court claims coming from moorside legal for the likes of uckps shortly
They have already started for wise
POCS are the same as gladstones
Yes that was kind of my worry.KeithP said:
That could backfire.Herbiedog3 said:Do I have to give my new address? Could I just tell them I’ve moved and make them trace my new address through the DVLA - would make it that bit more difficult for them? Or could that backfire?
Can you imagine the scenario where UKCPS or Moorside Legal write to you and get no reply?
They have two choices...- do searches to find you new address, or
- not bother with the searches and continue to write to your former address.
Having received a Default Judgment against you, they will then miraculously find your new address and demand the money that the court says you owe them.
You then have the challenge of unravelling that mess.Do you think it’s more likely they would issue a court claim after zero contact then, than after some communication? I thought the whole point was to avoid contact with them in the hope they eventually get bored and leave it.
Should I say anything in the letter/email re my position on the so called fines?0 -
The advice on here is to ignore the debt collectors but to inform the DPO at the private parking company of a change of address, otherwise you are relying on them using a tracing service and not using the old out of date address for the service of papers
They cannot use the DVLA database for a secondary trace, no idea where you got that idea from
You definitely don't want a saga like this thread below

The only thing in your email ( not letter. ) is the change of address under GDPR , nothing else, a Data Rectification Notice, as you were told earlier this morning
If the Claimant wishes to start bulk litigation, its a greed decision and nothing to do with your individual case
They have 6 years from the incident date to start a court claim, nothing to do with getting bored, purely a financial decision based on having tens of thousands of unpaid PCNs1 -
The NEWBIES thread LBC response already covers all of this including the address.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I really do hope you've taken sound advice given and emailed DPO your change of address and managed a bit more reading/research to grasp the facts instead of assuming. Your thinking is frighteningly wrong.
Parking companies earn their income from PCNs so they'll never "get bored and leave it".
DVLA doesn't offer a 'Find a Vehicle Keeper Address' service. There are specific guidelines on who can access the VK register and when this granted privilege can be used.
Always best to ask Google if you don't know something never assume or just hope it will go away.
Follow the advice given here and you'll get through this...without paying.2
