Give debt collectors new address?

Hi, I got a parking charge from UKCPS, my IAS appeal was rejected (did this before finding this forum) and have since been hounded by debt collector letters from Trace and now Moorside Legal, which I have been ignoring as advised on this forum.
However, since receiving the PCN, I have moved house. I read in the newbies post you should inform them of a change in address but was confused when it said “if they have traced you to a new address” and hold 2 possible addresses for you. They have not traced me and do not know my new address, the letters have reached me through a Royal Mail redirection but that is ending now, and I’m aware they can continue to pursue you for up to 6 years so clearly not going to extend it that long. I don’t want to miss any future LBC or court papers, but I don’t want to open up any sort of communication with them either if it can be helped.
Should I contact them with my new address?
If so, would I contact UKCPS or Moorside Legal and what should the email/letter say?
If so, would I contact UKCPS or Moorside Legal and what should the email/letter say?
Is it not better for them to not have an email address in addition, as that’s another way of contacting me?
Are they more likely to continue chasing me after I’ve contacted them than if they continued to get radio silence?
Do I have to give my new address? Could I just tell them I’ve moved and make them trace my new address through the DVLA - would make it that bit more difficult for them? Or could that backfire?
Please help…

I would suggest that you let the DPO know the new address at UKCPS for definite, as a data rectification notice, and instruct them to pass it on to their sub contractors ( and to erase the old address under GDPR )3

Instruct the DPO of UKCPS to erase your old date and replace it with your current address for service, and instruct them to instruct all their agents to do the same. Make sure you use the word "erase" as it has a specific meaning where data processing is concerned.
You shouldn't need to contact the powerless debt collectors, but you could send the same instruction to them if you wish. It will do no harm.
The PPC cannot get your new address from the DVLA, so you must not rely on that.
Do make sure to update your details with the DVLA for your driving licence AND your V5C, which must be done separately. I believe you can do this online.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister.

And make sure you keep a record of your sent email.3

Good thinking. The best way to do this is to send it to yourself as well. If you receive it, on the balance of probabilities, so did the PPC.Car1980 said:And make sure you keep a record of your sent email.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister.

No worries at all! Bring it on. They can learn a lesson from defended cases.Grizebeck said:I suspect we will see court claims coming from moorside legal for the likes of uckps shortly

That could backfire.Herbiedog3 said:Do I have to give my new address? Could I just tell them I’ve moved and make them trace my new address through the DVLA - would make it that bit more difficult for them? Or could that backfire?
Can you imagine the scenario where UKCPS or Moorside Legal write to you and get no reply?
They have two choices...- do searches to find you new address, or
- not bother with the searches and continue to write to your former address.
Having received a Default Judgment against you, they will then miraculously find your new address and demand the money that the court says you owe them.
You then have the challenge of unravelling that mess.4 -
Yep. Never ever leave a 'scam' parking firm with an old address to use.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thanks, I have already updated address on both separately, several months ago. They got my address in the first instance so assumed they could again if they wanted to, but not sure I’d rely on them doing so as could just play ignorant and continue sending to old address.Fruitcake said:Instruct the DPO of UKCPS to erase your old date and replace it with your current address for service, and instruct them to instruct all their agents to do the same. They cannot ask the DVLA again.
