I applied in advance for the Virgin exclusive fixed Isa 14 at 5.05%. Although it is now not available, when it went off sale there were 30 days during which you could set up a future incoming Isa transfer which I did.

I wanted to split the maturing ISA between Virgin and another ISA account with the Coventry, but I estimated the final balance incorrectly. The requested amount went to the Coventry yesterday, and I rang Virgin this morning to say that there wasn't the full amount in there that I'd requested to transfer to the ISA 14 - but they amended the request to final balance and it transferred this afternoon.

Was impressed with this - I was surprised that the Virgin to Virgin transfer didn't get actioned first (I'd requested it about 2 weeks before I'd requested the Coventry transfer, but was told that the external transfers were prioritised.} It was only a shortfall of £49, so not worth worrying about.

Really? Have you not seen the howls of anguish on here when (eg) a glitch meant people might not get their free monthly £5 from Halifax?

Currently that £49 will earn me12p less, lol

    £49 @ 5.05% = £2.47
    £49 @ 4.80% = £2.35

However, I'm not sure how long the Coventry 4 access rate will stay at 4.80%, which is a much bigger concern.

I also have a Nat West ISA maturing in November - no idea yet where I shall put the matured funds.

Cash ISAs still aren't bad but I expect as another six or more months rumble on they'll stop being good - probably get to low 3%s .
