Involved in an accident with an Uber driver and their customer

I took a right turn onto the main road, and an oncoming car from my right hand side, swiped the front of my front right side bumper. Their damage was on their front left wheel and wing. The collision was under 5mph and it looks like cosmetic damage only on both cars.

There was a passenger at the back and the driver has reported it to Uber.
My question is whether the customer will claim a personal injury? They were in the back seat.

the Uber driver wants to report it to the insurance (rightly so) but make no claim. I’m equally happy to do that, but what if the customer makes a claim?

Will Uber report it to the Uber driver’s insurance company?

I believe it's Uber that insures the vehicle and not the driver, someone will confirm.

No-one here can possibly know what the passenger will do.

If he does claim, by whatever route, your insurer will eventually get it and deal with it. FWIW he has three years to make a personal injury claim.

It sounds like this incident was your fault.
You need to report this to your insurer but it is possible that neither part will actually claim for any damage if all sufficiently minor and inconsequential.
If you are concerned about a possible personal injury claim, then settle privately is probably not viable - personal injury claims can very easily and quickly escalate beyond the financial means of many individuals.

Yes, but that might be ill-advised if there may be a personal injury claim coming down the line,

They might, but their claim ultimately is against the party at fault, I.e. not Uber or its driver. Uber or its insurer would quickly pass it on the the OP or his insurer.

From the OP's description of what happened it's the OP's fault, not the Uber driver's.  On what grounds would the passenger Claim from Uber?  (Even if they did, it's the OP's insurer who would end up paying)

On the grounds that his “contract” was with Uber.

Agree OP would end up responsible.

Which term in the contract has Uber breached?
