6 to 6.5 feet is fine for 4K on a 55" Tv and 7 foot would be great for 1080p.danrv said:
I think 43". A size calculator suggests a 55-60" for an 8.5ft approx viewing distance.Keep_pedalling said:What size are you looking at for the new one?
The distance maybe more (4x3.5m lounge) as I'm still decorating and not yet certain on positioning.
That said forget the charts, most people go into a showroom and stand just in front of the TV and comment how good they are.
It's about being immersed in the Tv, so too far away and you lose that.
For your viewing purposes it doesn't really matter, place it wherever it's comfortable for you.Drinking Rum before 10am makes you

If you could record straight from the streams to the TV (or box) for any channel and fast forward through adverts like a PVR then it would be a game changer.danrv said:
Early days with the Freely TV service. Not sure if it needs to be a consideration when choosing.Ayr_Rage said:They both get good reviews, especially the new Hisense models with Freely TV.
But alas it is just a streaming service with it's limitations.1 -
Don't forget of you buy from John Lewis you get a 5 year warranty and Richer Sounds you get a 6 year warranty2

Thought it was 2 years with JL. Richer Sounds 6 year warranty is chargeable I think.GrubbyGirl_2 said:Don't forget of you buy from John Lewis you get a 5 year warranty and Richer Sounds you get a 6 year warranty0 -

Let's Be Careful Out There1 -
Some Richer Sounds 6 year warranties are included with the product, some payable.1

I assume those which don't require an aerial are internet connected only.
Most if not all TV's have Freeview Tuner, just connect a aerial0 -
All the TVs at Costco come with a 5 year warranty if you have a Costco card or a friend who has one1

I see that now. From the manuals, it looked like some were Freely instead of Freeview.ballyblack said:I assume those which don't require an aerial are internet connected only.
