  • Print stuff on the office printer when you’re in on a Tuesday and Wednesday, like the rest of us. Surely..?
  • i've used HP for  15 years very happy. for me subscription service too expensive
  • I have owned several Canon printers and binned them as perfectly good printers because each time I went to use them I wasted half the cartridge trying to unclog them. My current HP Envy 5532 is 10 years old, prints on average 10 pages per month (some months none, some months more) and has never missed a beat.
My Envy 5540 is of similar vintage and subject to similar use - still going fine.

If you will not be printing much get a laser printer.  The toner will last a long time. They are fine not being used much.  Toner is cheaper than ink.  You can get them with scanners.
I was thinking of getting this one? Can I ask others thoughts ie ink etc?
Just need it to connect to my Samsung mobile to print occasionally and also scan occasionally too.

I had one of those.  It's a very good printer and scanner.

Thanks. In terms of Ink. Do you have to buy the manufacturer one or can you get ones from Ebay etc?
Do you just add ink to it or is it a different type?
    Thanks again

It uses two cartridges, one for black and the other for the three colours.  They seemed to last a long time, and even when it showed low they kept printing for quite a while until the ink totally ran out.

I only used Canon ink, which is very good.  I don't believe people should use the "comparable" inks.  The printers are very cheap and the companies make the money from the ink.  If everyone used compatibles the cost of the printers would have to rise.  If you want cheap inks, buy a more expensive printer.  Also the compatible inks won't look so good, will fade and will probably end up clogging up the printer.
