Replacement for Ikea/Whirlpool Single Built-In Oven

Hello!

My old oven has finally died, and I've been trying to find a replacement .But it's not easy, because the oven was only 54cms wide (behind the standard sized front panel/door), and the people that fitted the kitchen housed it in a cabinet that's only 55.5cms wide. The oven brackets take up a bit of room, so a new oven needs to fit into a gap that's 55cms wide, and I haven't been able to find anything that's narrow enough.

Does anyone have any suggestions of what I can do?
Is there an oven available that'll fit?
Is it even safe to fit an oven into a space that's so narrow?
Is getting the kitchen cabinet altered my only option?

Any help would be appreciated!

What model is the existing one?

    Have you checked ikeas offerings?

    Sure it can't be fixed?

John Lewis have four 55cm built in ovens on their website, take a deep breath before looking at the prices

I think a bit more googling is required as there are definitely 55cm wide built in ovens available. I found one that was 41cm wide

Thanks very much for helping. I can see one at John Lewis that's actually in stock, but it mainly seems to be a microwave. I was really hoping for a normal, 59.5x59.5 one, to fill the gap that the old one will leave.

    1 - It's a Whirlpool FXVM6

2 - Yes. There's one compact oven for about £700 that'll fit, but it's not the same height, so not ideal. The rest are 55.5cms wide or above.

3 - I've been advised by an electrician to get a new one

    Any ideas?

Won't be possible if the cabinet's 55cm wide.
Is that the size between the brackets or the actual side walls?
My old Creda free standing oven was 55cm wide but the gap in the worktop is 60cm.
Have fitted a standard size Beko now.

What's the actual fault, what are the symptoms? Completely dead or just not heating?

That model of oven is wider than the cabinet width that you gave, so I think something is wrong with your measurements.

Try measuring the width of the oven door. The door is the widest part of the oven, and that’s the dimension that is normally used.

If measuring the cabinet width, you need to measure from the outside of each of the side panels.

    HTH.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

Can the heating element be replaced?
