Honeymoon with history & diving

Firstly Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to everyone.
My step daughter got engaged on Christmas Day so her dad and I have offered to pay for the honeymoon. They would like somewhere with a little scuba diving, some historic touristy things and sunshine.
The answer that pops into most peoples heads is Egypt of course, but has anyone got other suggestions? We can only spend about £1000-£1300 and we would prefer 10-14 days for them if possible.
Any advice or ideas would be welcome. Thanks alot

Can I suggest Menorca? Lovely island, plenty of diving, and some wonderful historical sites (taulas, torres etc). Been three times and planning on returning again!:heartpuls Mrs Marleyboy :heartpuls

Looked at both but not hot enough really for a March holiday. Found Cape Verde Islands and thought I'd cracked it but looking on holidaysuncovered.com, it seems it's not all that great.
Any other ideas anyone please?Ken Livingstone is my mother0 -
Sri Lanka. 'Tho it will be stretching your budget a bit, you'd be looking around £700-£800pp for 2weeks all inclusive. It would tick all your boxes however!0

How about crete, warmer and also some great scuba. Other greek islands may be worth looking at. Cuba is also a good suggestion.0

Thanks everyone.
I'm thinking Sri Lanka and Cuba will be too many pennies but Crete may be worth a look.

We have a place in a lovley part of Turkey called Dikili. There is some amazing diving in the surrounding area especially the Candarli bay. It also has a wealth of historical sites including the second most important one in Turkey next to Ephesus called Pergamon. The area is uncommercialised there is no hassle and the food is amazing. It is also rich in thermal waters and there are places where you can hire your own thermal pool in landscaped grounds. I cant advertise it on this board but PM if you want more information and I can send you our website link. We are also part of the responsible travel website that only promotes holidays that benefit the locals and protect the enviroment and that site is also a good place to be looking for a honey moon as they have some wonderful bespoke type holidays. Entering responsible travel in a search engine would bring up the site.0
