Xmas Food Shop Intentions

M&S
Tried their highly recommended M&S 'slow cooked turkey crown, basted in buttermilk' last year. Yes, it was moist and tender - but we found the taste of buttermilk to be overpowering. Even the cat wouldn't eat it. Back to a normal turkey crown this year!Clowance said:I always check the Good Housekeeping taste test xmas foods and choose my things on that. Going to be a quiet Christmas for us this year, so my usual planning is not required. Thinking we will either go to the local Indian restaurant or an M&S meal. I normally host Christmas every year, for the last 30+ years but with elderly parents passing, other family members doing their own thing, which i don't mind about, it will be very quiet this year.
Hubby and I are not buying pressies for each other, we need a new mattress so that's what we will be "buying" this year.
I have also cut down on the number of cards sent, did this last year and will continue this year.
On a plus note i love to decorate the house with decorations and a tree, that will never change.3 -
On the whole that sounds like heaven with the door shut but sorry for your losses.TracyS66 said:Going to be a quiet Christmas for us this year, so my usual planning is not required. I live in Stratford upon Avon and we have a Christmas shop that’s open all year round, it’s very popular. Before I lived in Spain, they do have Christmas stuff out in October. So it’s not just the UK. That being said my Tesco has had it out since AugustI’m waiting for Tesco to open their slots. I have a delivery pass so I’m always up and ready. Their Christmas food to order looks good. My husband being Spanish and is having two children. This year we have decided to do our “main meal” on Christmas Eve. That way on Christmas Day we can have the time building toys, playing, going to the pub etc. Christmas Day meal will be fish/seafood platter, salmon terrine, meats, cheeses, bread that kinda thing:money::rotfl::T0

They do the shopping, I pay my share of the bill (and bring alcohol). That works best for us.Clowance said:
