Xmas Food Shop Intentions

As I am starting to think about my next annual shop, I am curious to know where everyone else will be going this year.

There isn’t a none of the above option for me we don’t do Christmas we both hate it but it’s hard to ignore when the one day a year that it is starts before October.

I said Other because I'll split it between several shops, but I don't know which yet!

I used to get Christmas delivered from Sainsbury's, but they're getting really expensive for what feels like lower quality.  Plus their delivery service has been pants recently...
A budget is like a speed sign - a LIMIT not a TARGET!!

    CHALLENGES

    2025 Declutter:
    1 CONTAINER (box/bag/folder etc) per day; 50/365
1 FROG (minimum) per week; 6/52
WEIGHT I'll start with 25 lbs (though I need to lose more!) and see how it goes...🤔 0/25

    2025 NSDs: 15 per MONTH - FEB 4/15; JAN 21/15
    2025 Fashion on the Ration: (carried over from 2024) 10+66 = 76
2025 Make Do, Mend & Minimise No target, just remember to report!

    AWARDS 💐⭐
  • I really cannot get excited about Christmas food or doing a big shop for the occasion. We are lucky in the UK that we can take our pick of whatever food we wish, whenever we want it. There something for everything.
No man is worth crawling on this earth.

So much to read, so little time.

It's not one day, it's a whole season, although it starts on 25th December so we do tend to overdo the build-up in the UK!
  • If people stopped buying the stuff the second it hits the shelves, the shops would quickly get the message.

We had mince pies and xmas tree chocs out here before the kids went back to school!

We save our nectar points every year for the shop at Sainsbury's. Last 2 years I've spent no actual cash and have managed the lot on points.

This year that's looking less likely as sainsburys have had less points offers this year.

Last year our turkey was rancid though😟 hoping for a better purchase this year

I usually manage to buy everything I need in advance added in gradually, over November and December, to my usual shopping. Then, Christmas week all I need is fresh veg.

    Mostly I shop in Aldi.
