I have 8 storage heaters and back when electricity was cheap and they were all in use, the 80A fuse burnt out one night. National Grid (Western Power back then) replaced it with a 100A.Phones4Chris said:
Thanks for that heads up. I currently have a 100A and would not be at all happy if it were changed to 80A as the minimum load at say 0100GMT on a cold winter's night would be 20.4kW and that's assuming I wasn't cooking.NedS said:Who is your DNO? National Grid, for example, will not install anything more than 80A fuse on a single phase connection.I'm surprised you didn't require a fuse upgrade when the EV charging point was installed. What is your peak demand? Were the DNO correctly notified? What paperwork was completed and sent to the DNO?
