3 Port Valve

so I have a problem with pressure increase on the heating side (underfloor heating) of an IVT HT+ E7. Every time the domestic water is heating, the pressure climbs on the under-floor heating side. I telephoned ALTO who told me my expansion vessel must be bad. I wasn't entirely convinced, thinking it must be the 3 Port Valve. Over the past few weeks I have released a lot of air from the water storage (its a 280ltr cylinder with solar coil), so my expansion vessel might be bad now. The return from the heating circuit is climbing to over 55c so I thought it must be the valve. I opened up the machine today and it appears the valve is just continually going round - certainly the disc/wheel with the pointer diagram on it is spinning constantly albeit slowly, while the Heat Pump is heating the domestic hot water. Has anyone seen or heard of this before? Many Thanks
