I think this may be a bit of a 'Marmite' commodity but does anybody here have gold in their portfolio? If so is it gold tracker or a physical gold Etc or perhaps you own physical gold.

I've got a Sovereign and a Britannia for the novelty. The Sovereign only cost me about £88 nearly twenty years ago. Wish I'd bought more!I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?0

I've got some Sovereigns bought over the past 25 years, represents less than 1% of my total.

A very Marmite topic. For me, yes, a few physical ounces, forming <2%. My view is it's not a bad thing to have but only if a) you already have substantial investments (whereas many seem to look at it for their first investment) and b) if you can afford to buy a reasonable amount each time e.g. 1oz rather than small fractions or overpriced novelties.1

I buy Mrs RC a sovereign every year. I figure that when the revolution comes, she can sew them into my collar and we can escape over the mountains with the children.7
