Is my meter an RTS meter ?
Comments

Is there any way to be able to state categorically that a metering system is not RTS-controlled on the basis of a photo of a meter? There are clues to look for:
- If the meter isn't labelled Radio Telemeter or similar, there has to be a separate radio-controlled switchbox*.
- There will often be more than one meter, e.g. if the system involves a 24-hour heating supply at a reduced rate.
- There will usually be a signal cable from the radio-control part back to the meter to enable it to record peak and offpeak usage.
* I have seen photos of an installation where the 'separate radio-controlled switchbox' was in fact a full-blown radio telemeter, just with a sticky label over the display to fool the unwary.I'm not being lazy ...
