Korean Air delay. No response on Resolver. Next step?

I had a Korean Air flight that was delayed by a whole day. I used Resolver (the website recommended by MSE) to ask for the compensation. It's been a few weeks but I haven't heard anything from them, not even a response saying they don't want to pay for whatever reason. On Resolver I was able to "escalate" it once to a customer service representative, but still no reply at all. I also can't reach anyone on the phone.

What's the next step? Ideally something that lets me keep the whole compensation.

On the basis that your Korean Air Flight was flying in to the UK it would appear that no compensation is due:

  • No, it was an outgoing flight from Heathrow Airport

Do you have anything in writing confirming the reason for the delay?

No, but I did speak to the airport staff and they told me the plane got damaged shortly before the scheduled departure. The Korean Air staff also said that they had to repair the plane which took a whole day. The plane was parked at the gate on time and the delay was not announced until boarding time, so whatever caused the damage should've fallen under Korean Air's responsibility I think.

edit: the only written thing I have is a text message informing me of the delay and it says "reason: operational conditions"

You are far better off complaining direct. As all Resolver do is forward on your complaint & that is all. They do not actively get involved in any complaint.

Wouldn't you be better off posting on the dedicated Flight Delay board?  I'll suggest it be moved

Resolver won't do anything.  Their role is no different from Royal Mail delivering a written complaint...
  • Thanks, will talk to them directly referencing Resolver and then escalate to CAA if necessary
