POP3 downloads to your computer but removes from the server.

Unless of course you leave the box ticked saying 'leave messages on the server' ;)

Have just downloaded TBird Portable, and will  see whether there is any difference between the two versions when transferring emails to folders.

    Thanks for the information.

I use pop3 and have been using Mozbackup for 10-15 years
    https://sourceforge.net/projects/mozbackup/
It's not supported any more, but still works fine for me.

    Thanks for the input.

I'm currently trying out TBird portable to see whether there is also a time lag when transferring emails to folders, but both versions seem similar at present.  Will see how it goes.

I use Thunderbird Nebula 128.2.3esr (64-bit) software programme for accessing emails.

Have used for many years, but these past few months it seems incredibly slow when moving emails into various folders. I only have 3 folders, with not many emails in them, and compact them every week or so.

Does anyone else use this software, and also find it slow, or is there something I could do to speed it up a little?

    Using Windows 11, laptop.

    Thank you
I've noticed this too recently, can be very slow at moving emails or even just deleting them.

I'm unsure if it's the software at my end or the server I'm connecting to via IMAP so I'm going to have to dig a little deeper to try and find a resolution.

@Hermann Hope you find a solution.

Thunderbird is a brilliant programme; you can display contents easily and not too much clutter.  It's just such a shame that it seems to have slowed down so much.
