BMW M3 or Kia Picanto?

That would be the sort of running costs you can expect with the M3 you are considering as the subject question of this thread. The M4 and the M3 are really the same car with different body style.raptor2004 said:Yikes £1100 for a front splitter?
what sort of people can afford to run these sorts of cars
The issues with the running costs are discussed more fully in this thread:
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6327621/servicing-costs-for-a-68-plate-bmw-m4-competition/p1
These M3 / M4 cars are also rather noisy and have a very firm (some would say harsh and unforgiving) ride (as do competitive models such as the C63 AMG) - they are not the models to opt for if economy and relaxed comfort are priorities.0 -
Whats the point in paying so much money for a car and paying a lot in running it if you can’t use its power on public roads? Why do people even bother getting these sort of cars if they’re not very comfortableGrumpy_chap said:

A nice Mondeo, or a Superb would be better options.
Or, if badge is important, a regular BMW 3-series / Mercedes C-Class
IMO, the main purpose of the "M" or "AMG" versions of the cars is for the brand marketing.0 -
You tell us, you apparently own a F82 M4 Competition....raptor2004 said:

Kia Picanto to an M3 is a significant change of car - the size of car (which your partner might not like) and also the driving characteristics.raptor2004 said:As title says, my partner currently has a 2016 Kia Picanto petrol.Through her work, she is able to purchase a new BMW M3 Competition on a lease scheme. The benefit is that the lease payments are taken from her pre-tax income, saving her some money. She has the disposable income, no debts (besides a mortgage) and can afford the monthly payments. She has only ever driven small cars in her lifetime, her previous car was a 1.2 litre Polo and the one before was a Clio diesel.
She once borrowed a friend’s Fiesta ST so she has some experience in driving such cars.Is the M3 Comp really a step above the Fiesta ST on public roads?
Does the company lease scheme offer any alternative models other than the M3? There might be models that your partner will find more suitable for needs. If there are EV models available, the BIK benefits will be attractive also. BIK on an M3 will be horrendous.
I also heard that M3 type models have a tendency to get split splitters, so great care will be required to avoid that if driving over speed bumps, parking up a kerb etc.

I dont understand
(a) what they think they're achieving, given noone believes them. They'd have a lot more respect if they just came on here and engaged in the same way everyone else does. No one cares if someone else drives a fancy car or no.
(b) why they're tolerated by the mods.3 -
Unless enough people are reporting them, the admins won’t take any action. It’s sometimes a tough call as an admin as you need to make sure they really are a negative impact on the forum rather than just annoying a few people.motorguy said:noitsnotme said:They also insisted they’ve never owned a Yaris (https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/comment/81000163/#Comment_81000163), yet see this…

Theres another guy who has a vendetta against landlords and has been banned multiple times. He keeps coming back with new accounts and posting the same old rubbish. It usually takes a while before he posts enough for the admins to get rid again. I noticed he has just been banned again in the last few days. That account lasted a good few months.1 -

Trolls thrive on the reactions they get from people. The best way to deal with them is to not communicate with them and report the thread.motorguy said:
