Hello. Can you suggest any great companies you know offering iphone insurance for lost, stolen and/or repair?

Please list any or suggestion ways to get a iphone £1,600 I’ve saved up for covered.

Do you actually need insurance? Oftentimes mobiles are insured through your home insurance. Further, how often does your phone get stolen or damaged beyond repair? For me it's cheaper to not buy insuand just accept I'll have to buy a new phone if something happens to it.

If you really want mobile insurance, it might be better to get a packaged bank account. Virgin Money's Club M account costs £12.50 a month and includes mobile insurance as well as worldwide travel insurance.

Just to add that home insurance typically has a limit for mobile phones (unless added to the policy as a named item) which could be as low as £300

Packaged insurance varies hugely, so it’s worth checking exactly what is covered and if there are any limits.

In general one thing to bear in mind is what happens when a device needs repair. Some policies arrange a doorstep swap for a brand new phone, some arrange a swap for a refurbished device. In both these cases it may be a similar model.

Some ask you to take the phone to a manufacturer authorised repairer and the insurance will pay.

Some collect the phone for repair. Some ask you to post the phone for repair. In the latter cases, they may or may not use a manufacturer approved repairer and may or may not use original parts.

You’ll understand these are all different prices (in insurance terms premiums). It’s a case of choosing the level of service that suits your pocket and need.
