If I did leave work I think it would ruin the place I work as nobody knows the job like me and they would all struggle
It does sound as though it is time for you to move on and finding a new job is generally easier from in work than out of work. I am not an expert on UC, but the DM may apply pressure for you to gain some kind of work if you voluntarily leave employment.2 -
We we are told there is a shortage of hgv drivers so you should be able to find something. It is better to lol for a job while still employed.
Be careful about stopping work and then finding reasons not to get another job. Easy to do when you having caring responsibilities.
An extended time away from work makes it hard to find another job.0 -
When I was having an awful time at work and was wavering about leaving, my husband said "you're driving the bus, if you don't like the route, ring the bell and either get off or change the route". Which at the time I thought "What the Hell????? That doesn't sound very supportive" but quickly realised he was right. I was driving the Bus of My Life. My Bus.* So I rang the metaphorical bell and handed in my notice. My hair stopped falling out and I slept properly for the first time in two years.
Ring that bell.
Have a search for part-time jobs that are ad-hoc and can be fitted in more easily. Perhaps look for driving wedding cars or Marquee companies. They tend to be summer/seasonal jobs. Do you have NT/RHS gardens near you, as they offer casual employment?
*My husband was extremely supportive but I had to make the decision to hand in my resignation.0 -

Plus some times of day are oversubscribed, making it difficult to set boundaries if those times don't work well with your needs.Signature removed for peace of mind0
