Car break down- getting it to a dealer
My car has broken down on my driveway.. it's 2 months old.
Had RAC out and have been advised not safe to drive. Contacting the manufacturer and earliest it can be seen is 30/09 at a dealership and they won't give me a courtesy car under warranty until it's been seen by a dealer to diagnose the fault despite the RAC report having noted it's not safe to drive.
Any advice on what to do here? I'm without a car for at least 10 days (which means missing a weekend away with family in Norfolk next weekend) but no where to go.
Can't find a dealer to take it earlier.
RAC just put me through to manufacturer customer services and I go round the same loop. No complaints procedure etc.
I need a car or miss booked activities for my kids, and the holiday we have booked as well.

Who did you buy the car from? Maybe they can do something rather than going via the manufacturer. Can you talk to the warranty provider directly? Given that the dealer can't look at the car for so long, they may authorise a hire car, which would be refundable based on the dealer's assessment of your car.I'm intrigued how your car broke down on your driveway such that it's unsafe to drive. Did you put petrol in a diesel car and now the engine won't start?0

The OP has another thread with more detail (easier for everyone if you keep to the same thread!): https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6555249/car-faults-within-6-months
Can’t you hire a car to tide you over?2 -
Many manufactures as part of the warranty do not offer a replacement car or any costs getting car to dealer.
It is down to the dealer to offer a car.
Quote from Kia warrantyLimited liability
Under this warranty, Kia are only liable for the repair or replacement of original parts by an authorised Kia dealer that are defective in material or workmanship. Kia are not liable for any costs that may incur getting to a dealer, supplying a replacement car or as a result of being without the car during warranty repairs.
Extra expenses and damages
Kia won’t reimburse for any financial loss or other damages. For example, loss of use, lodging and car rentals, travel costs or loss of earnings.
