One good thing - your PIP wouldn’t stop as that is not means tested so you wouldn’t have to reclaim that.Credit card 1800
Overdraft 250
EF 500 -
The pip payment would cover my rent so I would just be paying bills etc then reclaim when savings decrease I am going to have to go through the whole process of declaring savings and them scrutinising every thing I spend money on0

It might just be easier to give away any excess money to charity if you feel benefits are paying you too much.kingston1506 said:The pip payment would cover my rent so I would just be paying bills etc then reclaim when savings decrease I am going to have to go through the whole process of declaring savings and them scrutinising every thing I spend money on1 -
For clarity for the OP, excess income, to prevent your savings from accumulating too much.Rubyroobs said:

Check it all out before proceeding but buying a funeral plan never used to be DOC0

The beauty of cash, it's very hard to prove whether you have it tucked under your floorboards or if the cash is in the tills of your local Wetherspoons. UC is complex system for the low earning workers, if you work overtime you will lose UC, if you save to certain point you will lose XY. I would like to save for big ticket items like a new kitchen or new car eventually once the current one packs in, but for me there is no point in saving.Auti said:@M25 - I think that is very much against the rules for UC and could be classed as fraud as you are deliberately doing something to get more benefit - you still have access to the physical money.

That's called fraud if it's to hide from benefit calculation of savings... and which obviously we cannot advise.M25 said:Start taking cash out the bank and hiding it in your house. You may need it for emergencies.
(Strange you advocate fraud when you've previously complained about me using a legitimate document signed by my GP for benefit related purposes)."Do not attribute to conspiracy what can adequately be explained by incompetence" - rogerblack4 -
can you let me know what uc will likely do as I have not declared savings on a month by month basis I declared them a year ago and they have fluctuated around the same amount but have gone over sometime will they just recalculate the overpayment made?
